This site has been specifically created for Plate Number Coils (PNCs). It includes varieties and some errors, freaks and oddities (EFO) found on PNCs . If you have or think you have a PNC variety that is not listed, please send me an image of the stamp along with a description.

Over the next several months, I plan to update this site with as many images I can find. I do not plan to scan things such as imperforates, number on top or tagging varieties. These are generally understood.

If there is not a “thumb print” next to a variety, it may be that I don’t have an example or that I haven’t gotten to it yet.  I will be working in denomination order starting with 1˘.  I will welcome any help with the scanning.

I hope to have a glossary of terms that are constantly in use for PNCs. One area that needs to be addressed is the difference between all of the types of tagging. Tagging will be hard to show, since I do not have the proper equipment.
